How to use
My Skin Wax wax beads: professional, gentle hair removal in 5 steps.
- 1
Heat the wax to 60°C
Set the wax heater to maximum temperature, then, once the beads are almost fully melted, lower the temperature to 60°C for a soft, creamy texture.
- 2
Prepare the skin
Cleanse and thoroughly dry the skin. Test the wax temperature on the inside of your wrist before you start.
- 3
Apply the wax
Using a spatula, apply an even layer of wax in the direction of hair growth, over a small area at a time.
- 4
Pull off in one sharp move
Let it set for 10 to 20 seconds: the wax should stay flexible but no longer sticky. Then pull it off sharply, against the hair growth, keeping the skin taut.
- 5
After waxing
Apply an oil or a soothing care product to remove residue and hydrate the skin. Avoid sun exposure for 24 hours.
Frequently asked questions
What is the ideal temperature and how do I avoid burns?
This is the number one worry when waxing at home. The wax must be melted enough to be creamy and easy to spread (a runny-honey texture), but never too liquid or too hot.
The safety test : before applying it to a sensitive area, always place a small dab of wax on the inside of your wrist. If the temperature feels comfortable, you can start waxing safely.
How long should the hair be for effective waxing?
For the wax to grip the hair properly and pull it out from the root, it should be at least 3 to 5 millimetres long (about the size of a grain of rice).
Too short : the wax may slide over the hair without catching it, requiring several passes that are needlessly harsh on the skin.
Too long : it's best to cut them with a trimmer or scissors before waxing to avoid any uncomfortable pulling sensation.
How long do waxing results last?
On average, waxing leaves the skin smooth and clean for 3 to 4 weeks.
Unlike a razor, which cuts the hair at the surface, wax removes the hair along with its root (the bulb). The hair therefore takes several weeks to grow back. With each session the root weakens: regrowth slows, the hairs become finer and visibly sparser.
Why does the wax break or crumble when I remove it?
This is very common for beginners using stripless wax. It usually happens for two reasons:
The wax strip is too thin : if you spread the wax in too thin a layer, it becomes brittle as it sets. Leave slightly thicker edges (a bead of wax) so you can grip the strip easily.
The wax has dried too much : remove the strip as soon as it no longer sticks to your fingers (often within 15 to 30 seconds). If you wait too long, it loses its flexibility.
What's the difference between hot stripless wax (beads), hot wax with strips and cold wax strips?
Hot stripless wax (beads) : a method widely used by professionals. The wax wraps around the hair and clings mainly to the hair rather than the skin, allowing effective and generally less painful removal. Precise and comfortable, it suits every area, including the most sensitive ones (bikini, underarms, face).
Hot wax with strips (in a tin or roll-on) : it's applied in a thin layer and removed with a strip. It's best suited to large areas such as the legs, as it quickly covers a wide surface. Because it clings more to the skin, it's generally less suited to sensitive areas such as the face, underarms or bikini line.
Cold wax strips : ready to use, they need no device or heating time. Simple and quick to use, they let you wax different areas depending on their format: face, underarms, bikini or legs. They offer less control over application than hot bead wax, but are especially handy for quick hair removal at home or on the go.
Can I use the wax on the Brazilian bikini line, face and underarms?
Yes. Thanks to its low-temperature formula that clings to the hair rather than the skin, My Skin Wax bead wax suits every area, including the most sensitive ones: Brazilian bikini line, underarms, face (upper lip, brows) and fine hair. Work in small sections and keep the skin taut.
Is the wax suitable for sensitive, reactive skin?
Yes — that's exactly what it's designed for. Hypoallergenic, rosin-free and fragrance-free, it greatly limits the redness, itching and allergic reactions often caused by traditional waxes. Always do a wrist test before the first use.
What are the benefits of low-temperature stripless waxing?
A low-temperature wax (≃ 60 °C) goes on at a lower heat than a rosin wax: less feeling of heat and less redness. Being stripless, you pull it off by hand once it has set — more economical, faster, and ideal for hair removal at home just like at the salon.
